Alan Shell: Assistant Trainer

Alan began working for Magdalena/McPeek in 2007 as an Assistant Trainer spending the majority of his time in Florida. Currently, he is based in Lexington and is the Stable Manager for the McPeek/Magdalena horses training at Keeneland Race Course.

Growing up in Central Kentucky, Alan developed a love of horses at a young age. While earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science at the University Of Kentucky, he was exposed to many equine disciplines and breeds. After graduation in 2005, his passion for horses continued. Alan decided on a career in the Thoroughbred industry and in 2006 attended The Irish National Stud course in County, Kildare, Ireland.

During the Winter of 2009, Alan met his wife Trisha in Wellington, Florida. They were married in 2012 and are the proud parents of two lovely daughters, Taylor and Reagan.


Cyndi Greathouse: Marketing/Events Director

A part of the team since 2005, Cyndi oversees the marketing, website, and client services for McPeek Racing. She also works for Horse Races Now as the VP of Operations, having been involved since the inception in 2012.

She lives in Lexington, KY, and is active in the Thoroughbred and sport horse communities, where she enjoys showing her OTTBs in Dressage and Eventing.


Greg Morehead: Operations Director

Greg has been an avid Thoroughbred racing fan since childhood, as his grandfather was an owner. He joins McPeek racing with over 30 years experience in the finance and yacht industries, including being a licensed boat Captain.

He grew up in Lexington and is a 1984 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He is the proud father of one son who will soon be flying while serving in the military.


Lauryn Pachuta: Office Assistant

Lauryn has been with McPeek Racing since November of 2021 working out of the Magdalena Farm office. She grew up in Virginia with a love of Thoroughbreds and moved to Lexington where she has worked for several commercial farms prior to coming to McPeek.

SIn addition to managing the office, Lauryn assists Alan in coordinating and communicating with the assistant trainers at all the McPeek divisions. When you call the office, she will be answering your call.


Robby Albarado: Assistant Trainer

Jockey Robby Albarado has joined McPeek Racing as an Assistant Trainer following his retirement in December. He rode Swiss Skydiver to wins in the 2020 Preakness and the 2021 Beholder Mile-G1 for McPeek. He was the jockey for Two Time Eclipse Award Winning Horse of the Year Curlin, riding in all but one of his 16 starts. As a jockey, Albarado has 5,222 career wins from 34,113 mounts and has earnings of $221,560,458.

Shaun Charlton: Silverleaf Training Center Office/Foreman

Shaun Charlton moved from California to Florida in September of 2020 to join the Mcpeek Racing team at Silverleaf Training Center where he is the Assistant Forman. Born and raised in Jamaica, Shaun moved to New Jersey in 2002 where he remained until joining the military in 2014. He enjoyed seeing the world during is tour of duty. As a child, he attended the races with his family on the weekends and fell in love with the sport. Shaun is passionate about the horses and cannot see himself working in any other industry.

Greg Geier: Churchill Racetrack Assistant Trainer

Greg Geier joined McPeek Racing in 2016 as an Assistant Trainer. A longtime resident of Louisiana, his passion for horses began at an early age. Greg started walking horses as an eight-year-old for his father, trainer George Geier who inspired him to learn every facet of the racing industry and fine-tune his training skills. Greg continued training with his father while he pursued business studies at the University of New Orleans. He earned his Assistant Trainer's license in 1980. Prior to joining McPeek, Greg established his own public stable and successfully trained for multiple Thoroughbred owners in New Orleans and Chicago.
